TOPIC: Query Compilation and Plan Caching
Speaker: Dale Burnett
Abstract:
SQL Server often appears to be a black box. Queries go in and results come out. But a lot goes into making that happen. In this session, we will take a look at the steps that SQL Server goes through when it compiles a query plan. We will also cover how and where a query plan gets cached.

Announcing Our Speaker

This month’s speaker – YOU!

For December we will be having a Round Table discussion group.  The topic (at least to start) will be High Availability/Disaster Recovery; What are you doing now? What have you done in the past?  What works?  What doesn’t?  Are you using the new Always On Availability Groups?

There are no right or wrong answers to these questions, because like all SQL Server questions the answer is “It Depends…”  We want to talk about on what it depends!  If we veer off the topic or change it completely that’s OK.  This is YOUR group!

We will also poll the group as to what topics you would like hear about in the upcoming meetings so make sure you are there to get your input in front of the group.
